Superb is Superb

Since my last post I've been on the lookout for a good dedicated server. I was mostly looking for a datacenter in Seattle so it was close to where I'm at (you'll really notice a difference in FTP upload time if the server is close). I was stuck between Spry and Superb. I looked around online for reviews of those companies, and they both had good and bad reviews, that didn't really help out much. Then it just came down to price. Superb has way cheaper servers available. I think Spry's cheapest server is around $100. Superb has servers starting around $50. While I do believe (for the most part) you get what you pay for, I really don't need all that much support on my test development server for Intellipass.

I ordered the server on Monday night, and it was setup at about 7:00am the next day. That's pretty good. A person even called to let me know that everything was up and ready. He asked me if I had any questions, and he gave me the phone number for the support department. Not one hosting company I have ever been with has called me up and asked if I had any questions. That really made me feel good about choosing them, they care about their customers.

A few hours later I was having some problems with MySQL. I could not figure out what the root password was. I sent them a support ticket asking for the password and within a few minutes I noticed someone on the server trying to login to MySQL. In a total of 10 minutes they read my ticket, found a solution, and sent me an email with the answer I needed. That's really good. If Superb keeps this up, they're going to have me as a customer for a very long time.
