Why I Blog
Posted by Matt Johnson | 2007-05-31 17:25:59
I am going to start blogging for a few reasons:
- Collect my ideas in one place
- Improve my writing skills (written communication on the web is key)
- Vent (or rant) about web development stuff
- Prove to the world/clients that Matt Johnson knows his stuff
Collect my ideas in one place
I have a lot of ideas, ideas for starting up a new website, developing new tools, search engine optimization theories, stuff like that. I have them floating around in my head, but I'm too lazy to write them down. Eventually, I totally forget about them. Blogging is (kind of) a motivation for me to write them down.
Improve my writing skills
I am notoriously bad at teaching people how to do things, or explaining how things work. I think blogging will help me improve my communication skills, which will help me in many different areas (school, clients, other business).
Vent (or rant) about web development stuff
Sometimes, things just piss you off, and it's best to get it out in the open. Ya gotta do it every once in a while
Prove to the world/clients that Matt Johnson knows his stuff
I want to be a well known web developer, and a good way to start earning a good reputation is to share your ideas with other people: blogging.
That's why I am going to start blogging
