I'm Using Dreamweaver, Not UES for Web Development

I was really getting annoyed with how Dreamweaver was acting. FTP would hang up at random intervals, or refuse to connect, and while I worked in "Code" view my mouse would get locked up along with my keyboard. It was driving me nuts. I bought UEStudio hoping the light weight, but feature rich, text editor would keep things working smoothly and it did. I really, really like UEStudio.

Features I Love

As far as I know, Dreamweaver doesn't have any of those things (I guess Sites are kind of like Projects though). But (and it's a big but) UltraEdit Studio has the crappiest FTP file manager created. All you can do is: rename a file, change the permissions, and delete a file. That's it. You can't move a file, you can't create a new file, and you have no option to upload a file from your hard drive. When all you do is work on remote files, that is a very big problem. I don't want to have to create or move a file with a seperate FTP manager. I don't want to have to connect via SSH and run some shell commands, I just want to right click on a folder and say create new file. It doesn't seem like a big issue, but through the past week, that has been the single most annoying thing about UES. The other bug with UES is that project files have to local, that means EVERY time you edit a file, you should download it from your server (to make sure you're working on the latest copy) and edit it locally and then you have to right click on it and say sync with server. Why doesn't it do it automatically? Man that's annoying. Because I work exclusively on remote sites I'm sticking with Dreamweaver. I've been without those nice UES features for years, I don't need them now. But I sure as heck need a good file manager.

For all you people who think Dreamweaver is for amateurs, get real. Just because it makes it easier and faster to develop a website doesn't make it amateurish.
